Personal History


Jon was born in Caldwell, Texas and moved to Lake Jackson in 1986 when he began his work in the county as a Brazoria County Narcotics Investigator. In 1988, Jon became employed as a Police Officer for the City of Lake Jackson. During his tenure with Lake Jackson he had the privilege of serving the citizens of Lake Jackson as a motorcycle officer until his retirement in 2007. After his brief tenure with retirement he began work as a Chief Deputy with the Brazoria County Constable’s Office in Precinct 4. In 2010 Mr. Baker graduated from the Constable Leadership College at Sam Houston State University.

 Jon is married to Shon Baker; they have 4 children: 3 sons, 1 daughter, and 2 grandchildren: 1 grandson and 1 granddaughter. He and his family attend First United Missionary Baptist Church in Freeport Texas.

 Community Involvement

J.B. was elected to City Council in May 2011 and served until 2017 where he reached his term limits.  Once reaching his term limits, J.B. waited the required 18 months to be eligible to run again.  In 2019, J.B. ran for City Council and was elected unopposed where he now serves as Council member Position 5.
