Following in the Law Enforcement footsteps of an older brother, Paul attended Alvin College to obtain a Basic Peace Officer’s license in 1987. He then went to work at the Freeport Police Department and after about 5 years as a Patrol Officer for Freeport, he went to the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office for a brief period prior to coming to work at the Lake Jackson Police Department in 1995. While working as a Patrolman for Lake Jackson, Paul was able to obtain a Master Peace Officer’s license and was promoted to Detective Sergeant in 2002, and then to Detective Lieutenant in 2008. In January 2014 he was promoted to Assistant Chief, and in January 2019 he was promoted to Chief.
