[ARCHIVED] VELASCO DRAINAGE DISTRICT’S FREDREICHS DITCH RE-GRADING PROJECT FOR PECAN ESTATES SUBDIVISION
NOTICE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC
OF VELASCO DRAINAGE DISTRICT’S
FREDREICHS DITCH RE-GRADING PROJECT
PECAN ESTATES SUBDIVISION
ATTENTION: Residents, Police, Fire, EMS, School District, City Employees and others.
Velasco Drainage District will be sweeping the ditch behind Portulaca and Waterlily streets from Oyster Creek Drive to Pansy Path in an effort to improve drainage flow away from the subdivision to the Oyster Creek outfall. Their intent is to commence Monday May 22, 2017 and complete the project by Friday May 26, 2017 depending on weather conditions. The utilities locators have been notified, and locator flags will be appearing around the proposed work area as early as this weekend.
The work will take place in the drainage easement between Portulaca and Waterlily streets, but the large equipment will need to access the site from Pansy Path and/or Oyster Creek Drive. This may cause intermittent traffic interruptions along these streets while equipment is delivered or picked up at the start and completion of the work.
The heavy machinery should not enter any private properties without contacting the owner, and we expect the work to be confined to the drainage easement and street parkways.
Please be considerate of your neighbor’s safety as well as your own as you share the street with the large equipment. We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconveniences these needed improvement changes may create for you.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call our department at (979) 415-2414. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
Sal Aguirre, P.E.
