Keep Lake Jackson Beautiful

KLJB AWARDED GOVERNOR'S ACHIEVEMENT AWARD 🏆

Lake Jackson volunteers

Keep Lake Jackson Beautiful recently earned the Governor's Achievement Award from Keep Texas Beautiful. KLJB has won the award 14 times, more than any other city in the state. As a result, the city will receive $210,000 from TxDot for landscaping in the state rights-of-way. Residents and travelers may soon see planting, enhanced maintenance and other beautification projects on state highways and roads in Lake Jackson. Other cities that also earned the award this year were: Collinsville, Chandler, Nolanville, Henderson, Dickinson, Burleson, Pflugerville, McAllen, and Frisco.

Beautiful parks, recreational areas, rights-of-way, and public building grounds require lots of work.

Adopt A Spot is tailored for both individuals and organizations to take an active role in the maintenance and improvement of these areas.

Volunteer efforts have contributed toward ensuring that our Community’s public grounds standards for safety and beautification have continued at a high level of performance. These efforts have also had positive impacts on our City budget, specifically reducing labor costs and freeing our city parks staff to work on other important maintenance.gardening-g7bff49fd4_1920
