Not feeling well? Do you think it is because of the meal you ate at a restaurant? There are various types of food borne illness, bacteria, viruses, and toxins are the main cause. They all vary in their symptoms, duration of illness, mode of transmission, food implicated and prevention. An investigation must be conducted as soon as possible to determine the most likely source of any type of food borne illness.
When a complaint of a possible food borne illness is received, an inspection of the facility implicated must be conducted immediately, preferably within 24 hours. Also, an interview must be conducted with the individual (s) inflicted. There are three forms to be completed, copies of your Doctor’s diagnosis and/or lab test results are very helpful.
