In Case of Emergency
If you are outside and hear the CAER Sirens

• Go inside your home, car or a public bulding
• Close off all windows and turn off air conditioners
• Listen to CAER radio 1610 AM for emergency information.  If there is a potential for community impact the telephone alert system will be activated.
• If you do not have a radio call 979-238-CAER (2337)
• If the release gets inside your shelter, place a wet cloth over your mouth and nose to serve as a filter.

If you hear the CAER Sirens, but can't get inside

• Move crosswind so that the wind is not blowing into your face or from behind.
